Title: Gaston, SC September 30 - October 1 AAR
Post by: TheIronMantis on October 02, 2017, 09:54:12 PM
We had an awesome shoot this past weekend.  The weather was absolutely beautiful.  The shooters were real receptive to the marksmanship and history instruction.  Saturday we hit all the POIs and had time to squeeze in two AQTs.  After a quick review on Sunday we ground through several more AQTs.  During the lunch were learned about KD theory, and during our afternoon break we talked about some Dangerous Old Men, Brave Children and Gallant Women.  This being the State of SC we also told the story of the events leading up to, and the Battle of King's Mountain itself.  After the break we shot one more AQT for good measure and then we shout groups and did IMC at 25, 50 and 100 yards.

Can you believe we had 7 new rifleman and six of these were first time shooters?  Big congrats to Nelson, Ben, David, Scott, Israel, Matt and Stan!  A special thanks to David to stepping up an taking an orange hat.

If you were there please post up!  We would lover to hear from you.

Fantastic crowd, it really doesn't get much better than this when it comes to positive attitudes. Beautiful weather and SEVEN new riflemen. Weekends like this make it awesome to be an Appleseed instructor, thanks for your hard work guys. ..:..

Events like this make me glad I took an orange hat last spring!
Seven new Riflemen.  What a great group of participants!

I was a first-timer at the Gaston Appleseed, and I loved it.  The Appleseed method of instruction is spot-on, as it zeros in on exactly what you need to do to perfect your marksmanship.  I appreciated the instructors patience and their encouragement.  Anyone that is serious about becoming a top marksman should take the course.  I was pleased that I was able to qualify on the very first AQT with a score of 233.  I will definitely recommend the Appleseed to all my friends.  I'll be back!  Stan
