Out in the West Texas town of El Paso, several awakening Americans ranging in age from 9 to 70 gathered At the El Paso Community College's Law Enforcement Academy to learn about our shared heritage and the fundamentals of rifle marksmanship.
Everyone enjoy the history and marksmanship, you could see the awakening happening in their eyes. Sunday morning at the end of the safety briefing a call came in from the Texas State Coordinator; giving the Shoot Boss 10 minutes warning that the local ABC affiliate KVIA channel 7 News was coming to the range for an interview… http://www.kvia.com/news/top-stories/el-pasoans-learn-us-history-rifle-marksmanship/600602081 . This went off without a hitch and the reporter was invited back for our October event to really experience what it is we do.
Our Young Patriots Kevin, Fernie and Emily were all shooting like Sharpshooters, when Kevin P. Sr. according to Adaptive Appleseed guidelines fired the only new Rifleman score of the weekend a 227. Three of our IIT cadre requalified, all with scores of 210.
All together it was quite the fulfilling weekend of American Heritage. As we parted ways, there was a new sense of camaraderie amongst us all and many bodings of; see Y'all in October!
