What a fine weekend for an event along the shores of Lake Huron at the old Wurtsmith AFB rifle range! The skies were blue, but the breeze off the lake was cool. (for the most part)
We had two students who had been to prior events come and share the range with us. They listened to the instruction and applied the techniques to great success. Soup.Sammich earned his rifleman patch with a 214 on Saturday running a 20" AR all weekend. ~~:) Very nice!
Broken Scope earned his patch on the second AQT he ever laid eyes on last year, but took a little longer this year, (the last AQT of the event :cool2: ) in large part due to equipment failure... :slap: Hence his forum username! :wb: He brought out his backup rifle (everyone has a backup rifle, right?) and showed us what NPOA looks like.
It was great having the two Red Hats (D.S.S. and Nailer22) there, as it made the Shoot Boss's life easy (er) ^:)^ :pop:They got some trigger time :~ along with our Orange hat, Fly-Boy who volunteered to be basically rode hard all day Sunday. ~~:)
Thank you, Nailer for showing us the ins and outs and history of your United States Carbine, Caliber .30, M1 and letting the Morgan's Men shoot some redcoats with it. :~
Broken Scope was able to be talked into &) taking an orange hat &) and will be an asset to the cadre'.
Soup.Sammich has a goal to take a hat as well, sometime in the future. :cool2:

Great weather, great shooting, and most of all, great people.. Appleseed shoots are like tater chips, you can't have just one. :)
