Title: NPOA *Tip* for Seated
Post by: navybowhunter on May 09, 2017, 03:55:34 PM
So....one of CA's shoot bosses Johnny Fisher was teaching/assisting with a  SAFS clinic at Butner.

Ideally, one would want to stand with feet in place in rapid seated.

Some are unable to do that....myself included with my broke leg/ankle.

SO....here is the GOLD and it WORKS!

Establish seated position
lean FWD and scooch but rearward
Dry fire...eyes closed stuff....check NPOA

Once established....pick out a telephone pole at a distance....10-100 yards will work.  Pole, piece of grass....whatever you can find to line up your "intimate area" with......Stand and stare at that object....stalk of grass....soda can whatever.

When it is time to go live...drop into position and quickly line up on your reference object.

WHALLA!  I was on my target and in the Black!

It really does work.

Do you still mark your butt position on the mat? I want to try this, since the last time I practiced sitting transitions I sat down on my spotting scope and felt like a (fat) bull in a china shop.

I do use a glob of spit on the mat still, but this does work.

Seated the glob goes between my legs, and then I find a reference object at some distance to stare at and get me back to my established position.

Prone....that is probably a little more difficult, I use a glob of spit where my support elbow goes and just get back down on that.  Honestly, by the time I get my spotting scope set up on my target, it is a great reference as well.

Give it a try, it worked for me.
