Rain held off to give us a nice weekend for 6 of Maryland's newest Appleseeders (and one returnee) to git r' done. Saturday started so cold we had to kick the baffle boards apart due to them being frozen together. As the day warmed up, so did the shooters, with our repeat Appleseeder (David M.) proving that shooting the first Rifleman Score is that hardest, with a requal at 220 on the first AQT. Second AQT our OTHER David M. proved to his grandkids that there is no terror greater than an old (well, not exactly young) man with a classic bolt action by shooting a 210. Special kudos to Kacie D., who showed up with a out-of-the-box AR15 and stuck with the course of fire while learning her gun. Sunday was warmer but breezier, with six shooters returning. Other David doubled down on his performance the previous day by cleaning the evening Redcoat and walking away with a coveted Maryland Front Sight Patch. Both David M and Other David M kept up a steady pace of requals throughout the day. Kevin M., Other David M's son, proved that the apple doesn't fall far from the tree by scoring a 211 of his very own. Now we just need to get Gilda and Devlin back, and we'll have a whole family of riflepeople! Altogether, three rifleman patches, one front sight, and one Luther Blanchard patch for 7 shooters with only one second-timer made for a pretty good weekend.
