Title: 2017 CMP Eastern Games
Post by: navybowhunter on March 14, 2017, 11:48:33 AM
Figured I'd post this in here....if anyone is shooting the Eastern Games at Camp Butner...here is my schedule:

Friday:  RIFLE SAFS

Saturday:
GSVMM: Relay 1/2
GSVMM: Relay 3/4
.22 Pistol EIC: 1330

Sunday:
CMP Rimfire Sporter: 8am
GSVMM: Relay 5/6
GSVMM: Relay 7/8

Monday:
M1 Carbine Match

Tuesday:
Vintage Sniper Match

I will not be doing the Creedmoor Cup this year due to my injured leg, too much to expect to be able to move across the course.

The GSVMM matches and Vintage Sniper are all electronic scoring this year, so no pit duty, works out well for my bum leg.

Look me up if any of you Appleseeders will be in attendance.

What kind of .22 pistol will you be shooting  and what pistols are popular at that event? What does EIC mean?  I'm traveling 750 miles East this weekend to take NRA level 1 pistol coach training in Charles Town WV. Unfortunately, that's still 300 miles from SC. Have a great shoot!

I'll be using a Ruger MK2 for the Pistol Excellence in Competition match.

Below is a link to the 2017 CMP games rules.
http://thecmp.org/competitions/cmp-competitions-rulebooks/

I'll also be shooting the GSVMM 4 gun aggregate.  GSVMM stands for Garand (as issued), Springfield (03), Vintage (several qualify per rules, I use a 1917 Eddystone) and Modern Military (as issued AR15/M16).

Vintage sniper will be shot using a 1903A4

CMP rimfire Sporter is a .22 rimfire.

Hope that helps, and thank you!

Thanks. Yes it does answer some other my curiosity. Great website. Also got me to the CMP rules. I also borrowed a MKII for the coaching class. We may be sitting in the mud or on the ice, but I hope you have a great shoot.
