Another one in the books! The Alliance Rifle Club hosted their Appleseed at their Fiebig Range, which is a very nice facility located on the edge of the sandhills east of town. The instructors were all envious of the range and would love to have something comparable close to home! Weatherwise it was pretty brutal with temperatures around 100 and a very stiff wind from the south all day, which made attention to the target line not uncommon. We were very happy to have access to the Cleary building for lunch and history to get us out of the wind and sun, as it is spacious and houses many targets and maintenance equipment. Eleven shooters were present starting Saturday and ten of them returned on Sunday, which was a much more pleasant day to enjoy as the temps moderated and the wind, although strong enough at times, had shifted directions and the building provided a good windbreak. We made great progress with our shooting prowess as evidenced by the Redcoat targets, and two Riflemen and one Riflelady were acknowledged by the end of Sunday. Thanks to Mike and Toby for instructor help-they live in the eastern part of Nebraska which is 400 miles from Alliance, and that, folks, is commitment! A big "thank you" to club members Dan and Steve for coordinating things and helping tear down after the shoot. Really appreciated!
