Another great Appleseed weekend at the Home Range!
With seven students and five instructors, we ended up with two new Riflemen and one re-qual. Wonderful weather for late February in North Carolina - less than five days earlier we had snow and ice, but this weekend was cloudy and around 60 degrees.
After some rough groups the beginning of Saturday, the shooters became much more proficient in handling their rifles, and gained confidence in the time-proven techniques of precision shooting. Many had never experienced the benefits of the US GI sling, and came away with an appreciation of the simple tools of shooting.
Congrats to Brian (211), Clay (213), and Randy (224) on their Rifleman scores. A big thanks to Randy on taking an Orange Hat and starting down the road to being an Appleseed instructor.
We all got a reminder that Appleseed weekends are not about shooting, nor even about history - but about Freedom, and the individual decisions that each of us make every day towards keeping the freedoms our founders fought and died to provide us.
