We had a small and excellent group of shooters, who continuously produced small and excellent groups of holes on paper. It was a beautiful thing to behold.
BillJac was kind enough to post the following:
We had a blast this weekend in Waco (I don't know where that came from... China Springs) with Kevin and Dan. I've been to a few Appleseeds before and the dynamic working with only four participants was completely different. I think we did about 903 AQT's. While I had equipment trouble, it was a learning experience as usual.
We did a speed drill on the Redcoat target and my buddy, Josh Allen cleaned it in under a minute. Maybe next time for me.
Thanks Dan and Kevin for working this for such a small group.
Because this was a small and experienced group, we were able to shoot at least a dozen AQTs. Each shooter went through about a brick of ammo, much to everyone's delight! 3 of the 4 shooters put up Rifleman scores. The forth shooter demonstrated a dogged determination to earn his patch, and with the encouragement and advice of his fellow shooters, he scored a 209 near the end of the day. He is committed to returning soon to finish the job. A Rifleman Persists!!!
Gunner01 and I were thoroughly impressed with the marksmanship, knowledge and attitudes of this weekend's participants, and are thrilled to welcome 3 new Orange Hats.
Special thanks to Gunner01 for setting up an M1 challenge at the end of the weekend -- It was the icing on the cake!
