My rifles seem to handle this ammo much better than anything else I've tried, particularly my Marlin 60 and the recently acquired 10/22s we've just tried. Remington and Federal offered to jam quite frequently, but never the CCI...even in the hollow point version.
Where's the place to buy these in bulk and get the best price?
I always got them from Sportsman's Guide:
http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=408081
Not as cheap as they used to be, but still a good price if you are in their Buyer's Club and order in 2500 rd increments (WX2-12271).
Also use coupon code SG888 to get $10 off your order of $99 or more. (good to 2/28/09)
http://www.natchezss.com/product.cfm?contentID=productDetail&prodID=CC0030&src=bckrdAlrt Walmart is around is price if not slightly higher. Weigh your shipping vs tax cost to figure out which is cheaper for you.
Typically, I just buy it at Walmart, but if you are buying it en mass, you might quality for free shipping or similar after a number of boxes or dollar amount.
Large quantities- talk to the local Wal Mart and they will order it in for you. Takes about a week. And you may have to prepay.
Natchez won't ship the CCI ammo into Georgia, Tennessee or Alabama.
I've found a really good deal on the Winchester Wildcat rounds, 40gr, lead round nose. A really good deal, but I don't know anything about the stuff.
I want it for a pair of 10/22s and a Model 60 Marlin which really likes the CCI product.
Try the Winchester Dynapoint http://www.cheaperthandirt.com/68091-5.html and use the CTD promo code.
Have found these to be very reliable. They shoot almost as well as Federal Gold Medal Match in mine and burn pretty clean.
