Title: KD at Isaac Davis Memorial Range, 7 November 2015
Post by: Engineer shooting on November 08, 2015, 06:36:05 PM
Appleseed, we're not snipers or bench rest shooters.  We're Riflemen - field shooters.  Our goal is to consistently hit a man-sized target out to the Rifleman's Quarter Mile. Rock solid fundamentals and BSZ is the key. With 25 meter zeros we discussed hold overs/unders, sight adjustments verboten, then properly applying these principles. 100% success ratio enough said.

The Battle Sight Zero-only steel target KD, the fast way to get instructors KD-qualified. Hmm, something is happening at the Isaac Davis Memorial Range (and Gardens) in Tallahassee.

The Shoot Boss spent 10 minutes explaining how it was going to work. Then we moved onto the range. The instructors/shooters:

At the Isaac Davis Range, practicality rules. If it takes a pink USGI sling to get the job done, well then . . .

It was educational. I learned to really check the zero--even if it was good yesterday. Ballistics tables can make for great reading if you are motivated enough. The Isaac Davis Memorial Range totally rocks! Lastly, if you have not already signed up for the RBC there in January, well, what are you waiting for? It will be EPIC and you really do not want to miss it.

Use this link to register: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/tallahassee-fl-rbc-month-january-24-29-2016-tickets-19472430564 (http://www.eventbrite.com/e/tallahassee-fl-rbc-month-january-24-29-2016-tickets-19472430564) As an IIT, you would have to pay for the first RBC (unless you fit into one of the "free" categories) but all subsequent RBC's would be free. Here is a link for Appleseed fees: http://appleseedinfo.org/tips/faq.php#fee01 (http://appleseedinfo.org/tips/faq.php#fee01) Instructor Boot Camps are free and it is likely that we will have another sometime early next year. IBC's are a great way to become a better instructor in only one weekend. See you in NSB this weekend!

H Bruce,
How about Redhats that have attended an IBC but not an RBC? Do we register as a student on Eventbrite?

As far as I know, Red Hats can sign up as students or instructors at a RBC. Students: Eventbrite; Instructors: TIPS. In any case, a Red Hat signing up as a student would be free.
