No, Sir, but the Tech Sights are the way to go and they aren't that much more - 55 to 69 FRNs.

You can find them here:  http://www.tech-sights.com/

And there's always a group buy on 'em going on here:  http://appleseedinfo.org/smf/index.php?topic=3497.0

The tech sights really are the way to go.  Cost might be an issue but the results are worth it.

You get the same sight picture (for reduced distance training) that you'll have with and AR, M1, M1A, FAL, etc.  You get the advantage of a front sight that adjusts for elevation (at zeroing) like and AR and uses the same sight tool as the AR.  The rear sight adjusts for windage just like the M16A1's and uses the same sight adjustment tool.

Once you get the sights and get a 1&1/4" GI sling on it it'll fool you when you get slung up in it and start shooting.  It'll fool you into thinking you're snuggling up to an M1 or M1A. ;D

It is not up to me as to what type of sights it is up to my dad.
He is what you would call stubborn, and CHEAP.
He says that the TECH SIGHTS are and I quote "to much to add to this type of rifle".
I hope have one of my parents let me get the sights.
If I can't get a parent to get them for me, any one know of a good part time job in the Irvine area of Orange County, CA.

THANK YOU

Biscuit,
There are plenty of stores in need of seasonal help for December.  Apply to a nearby store, work for a month, and buy the tech sight plus beaucoup ammo.
Here's the selling point:  Work for a specified period.  Buy Tech Sights, 5000 rounds of ammo, and save the rest "for college".  Reinforcing your personal growth, present situation, and future all at once.

Biscuit, tell him a good gunsmith with nothing to gain either way told you the smart thing is to spend the extra $15 and buy the Tech Sights. I have several 10/22's set up with them, and they are so much better than the Williams, and so you know, I happen to like Williams sights.

Add that the gunsmith is one of those cheap Yankee's up in Northern New England to boot.

Biscuit -

Someone mentioned the "GROUP BUY" to you.  An added benefit is that with the group buy Tech Sights give us a 15% discount.  So a basic set of tech Sights for 10-22 won't cost much more that $40 bogey you had in  mind.

Here is a link to the discounted prices.

ARC should be starting up another buy (GB4) very soon.  I believe Group Buy 3 (GB3) is complete and ready to send off to Tech Sights.

I put a set on my 10/22 recently.  You won't regret the investment.
