What a wonderful Appleseed weekend!! Saturday started with 17 shooters, 8 of which were new to Appleseed. Everyone seemed interested in all history presentations and marksmanship training. Because of this, everyone did very well with great groups on the squares. By the end of the weekend, we had 1 rifleman re-qualify and 3 new rifleman!!
This weekend was also nice, because we had groups of family and friends in attendance. Everyone enjoyed Merlin and his 2 daughters, ages 7 and 11. Both of these young ladies did an excellent job and showed much determination all weekend. We also learned from Josalyn that "you shouldn't wear fuzzy pants to shoot...it makes you too hot!" We also had a 12 year old fellow in attendance with his family, and he made great progress. Everyone was very safe this weekend.
A big thanks to Jason and Merlin for grilling lunch both Saturday and Sunday!!
A special thanks to the Egyptian Rifle and Pistol Club for allowing us to use their range. And thanks for the club members, Randy and Larry who were willing to stay with us, so that we could hold our event.
The Appleseed team in Il also grew this weekend with 2 new Orange hats, MP and R4G; and a new blue hat with Josalyn. Thanks to all of you for stepping up!
Of course, it was great to work with such excellent instructors: Polar Bear, Dond, Olefido, and Miss Sarah who is the best Blue Hat ever!!
I hope to see all of you at future events!!
Leslie
