Title: Bowie, MD 09AUG15
Post by: southseasnurse on August 11, 2015, 09:36:42 PM
We had another great shoot at Berwyn Rod and Gun Club in Bowie, MD.  Berwyn has been a dedicated and constant supporter of Appleseed, giving up their 100 yard range for a weekend every couple of months, free of charge! Berwyn, thank you for your constant support!  Anyway, we had 7 motivated shooters (including 4 returnees) turned up at 0830 on a cloudy Sunday morning to continue their journey as Riflemen reclaiming the honors and duties of citizenship.  Since no rounds are allowed downrange 'til 1000, we rolled into the welcome and FlintLocke gave the First Strike of the Match.  That done, we put up the first Redcoat of the day: No cleans, but 3 shooters placed, and another two got Capt. Morgan's Shingle on the first go.  Shooters took to instruction well, and after a short break for the Second and Third Strikes (Also by FlintLocke) over a late lunch. By this point the day was getting pretty hot and muggy, but we got through two AQT's before evening shut us down.  The evening redcoat saw four shooters place (plus 2 shingle shots!) and...two clean redcoat targets!  Strong work, Gina and David!  We made one new rifleman (David, with a 211; this was his second Appleseed), and saw a lot of 150-160+ scores.  A special shout out to Gina, who had very little experience with a rifle, but was able to translate her pistol experience into a clean Redcoat.  A special shout out to our IITs: FlintLocke, IcySage, CatGravity, and AlexW for giving us a strong line; Congratulations to IcySage for completing his Red Hat PC!
