Title: Full line at Skowhegan
Post by: The Old Guide on July 03, 2015, 11:56:44 AM
We have a full line for Skowhegan on July 25 & 26. Devil Dog and Second Mile are signed up as IITs. If anybody wants to come to a very nice range and also get some trigger time after supper, you are welcome to sign up. It will be a busy shoot. Over half are novices. One shooter has stepped back and will not shoot to allow another shooter to fire.

I'll do what I can to squeeze another shooter onto the line if the club agrees. We may also have those two shoot in relays. The first shooter has shown the Appleseed spirit in sacrificing his time on the line for someone else. He will attend all instruction. I see this person as potential Appleseed cadre in the future.

Last year at Skowhegan on the second day, a club board member came to me and said, "Appleseed is a magnificent program that everybody should experience." He then gave me 2,000 rounds of .22 ammo "for kids who can't afford it". Those boxes remain unopened , but I'll pop them open at the first opportunity that meets his criteria.

Have a fine Independence Day and remember those who sacrificed so much; at Concord Bridge, Afghanistan and all the battles in between.
