QuoteThe presidential outcome has drastically increased the demand for ammunition, magazines, and AR-15 parts resulting in supply shortages. The price is continuing to increase and we can not honor lower or printed pricing.
We apologize, however we are not in control of this situation and our current inventory is expected to sell out today. Replenishing the inventory may take months at much higher costs.
Wolf 7.62x39 has been bouncing around the last 2 days. At one time it was listed at $9.97 per box of 20!!!!
There is no shortage of ammo. Appleseeders of all people should realize that hysteria of one more anti American will not change the people or the political landscape for very long. How many of you went out and bought a 5000 gal tank to store $4.25 per gallon gas in it. Last Guy I ever heard of was John Denver( singer, environmentalist) and this was 20 yrs. ago. He is dead I believe, but I still think he has all that gasoline.
Appleseed, Appleseed, all you can and just wait for 2010, When conservatives take back both houses again!!! ;D ;D

Actually, a shortage is quickly developing now. Hopefully, people will find other things to spend their disposable income on and it will be short lived. It is the panic driven reaction we are now seeing which creates artificial shortages. Even when the supply may be linear and solid, the demand is not. One issue is that 1 1/2 - 2 years ago, the supply temporarily dried up on Wolf ammo. This reality is helping to fan the flames of panic. Most of the usual suspects on the net are running short on ammo and some components including rifle parts. Those who are not necessarily experiencing immediate shortages have raised their prices in anticipation..
It is the political mass hysteria stirred up by the NRA which is fueling this. The intentions may have been good, but the road to Hell is paved with good intentions.
Quote11/07/2008 Memo to our Customers:
As you know, we at AIM and others in the firearms industry are experiencing an extraordinarily high demand for the products we sell.
This extreme demand compares only to the spike experienced in 1993-1994 when the Brady Bill became law.
Although we will do all we can to insure the fulfillment of your order(s) in its entirety, we are experiencing product shortages that may result in backorders or delays of specific product from your order.
We ask for your patience as we work diligently to process orders, answer phone calls and respond to the thousands of emails requesting information about orders placed and product status.
Although some have responded to this spike by raising their prices immediately after the election. You have our promise that we will make every effort to maintain our advertised prices until our suppliers increase our costs.
In an effort to better control our remaining inventory, we are allowing only selected products to be purchased via our website this weekend.
Thank you again for your business and your patient understanding. AIMSurplus
With copper and lead prices dropping fast this ammo scare is really a blessing. All the business who have ammo and components will be able to clear out their inventorys bought at higher prices. Lower prices should be just around the corner. This could save many small gun shops from bankruptcy.
So if you are panicy I say BUY! BUY! BUY! But i'm not buying.
If you need or want ammo, Wideners and AIM Surplus still have .308 ammo at pre-panic prices. Look there.

Don't forget our friends at the CMP.
They are offering odd lots of 223 & 308 on their e-store over the next few weeks, and their prices on Aguila 22 LR & Greek 30-06 are exactly the same as they were 10 weeks ago!
Pretty convenient if you have a LTR or a Garand, don't you think?

Colycat, the word "conservative" has been so warped (40 percent of the American people describe themselves as "conservative" - or is it 60 percent?) as to not have much meaning anymore - and it can be mistakenly (for sure!) be supposed to apply (by those who don't know) to only one party, the Republican.
We want people elected who adhere to what the Founders wanted us to adhere to - because that is what defines what "American" means.
That's a concept that transcends notions of "party", and possibly even "liberal" and/or "conservative".
I don't know what you call them (people who believe in what the founders believed), unless we resurrect another much-battered word, "patriot" - and insist on using it in it's original 200+ year-old context and meaning.
I've bought some .308 ammo recently from ammoman.com for good prices.
gulfcoastammunition.com has AK ammo for about $185/1K plus shipping.
Incidentally, early word from the largest gun show in the world, Wannamakers in Tulsa, is that
AK's were going for $1,400 yesterday.
WOW!
Wonder if they sold any? I'll sell mine for that much.
AK ammo was $225/1K.
QuoteAK's were going for $1,400 yesterday.
This is shameful - that so many Americans will sleep on the couch until it's time to panic - and then panic!
Wait until they see the invader as - not on the horizon, not before the village walls, not battering the village gate in - but in amongst them, right in town, knocking on
their door, before they bestir themselves...
Yep, it's founders-spinning-in-graves-time... :'(
I hope we can make 2012 America a better place to be...via Appleseed!

The only AKs which should be going for $1.4K are pre 1989 ban quality pieces. WASRs are still filling the shelves at the normal $550 and less pricing depending on configuration. Some unscrupulous individuals may place such price tags on them in hopes of striking it rich, but the supply has not dried up.....
Anyone who would pay that price just because there is a local or regional shortage is nothing less than a lazy fool at this point and has more money than brains... 8)

Still same thread. Still same topic. Very small detour. Detour over..... ;)
Y'all can jump on the "false panic" wagon, or wait a month or so, when prices go back to normal.
It's nothing more than "supply and demand" economy and right now, the doofuses that have been sitting on their couches just got a small wake-up. THey realize the election is over, and a known anti-gunner won. Had they been awake, they would have been working on stocking up long ago, but, alas, they are like lemmings.

D-mn, Nickle, what a contrast!
Let's see, let's see - give me a moment, while I make up my mind...
;D ;D ;D
I figured the picture contrast would explain it better.
Way too many couch bound doofuses are acting just like lemmings.
Your contrasting pics are very Oleg-like and would make a great gun show recruiting poster, I would think...
Wanna try it at a NE gun show, and let us know how it works? (Or, if it works?)
I find myself resisting the urge to go out and buy 2 or 3 SKS rifles and a couple thousand rounds of x39.
"They're cheap now! Get 'em quick before they're gone!"
bleh.
I won't enjoy shooting them like an AR or M14. It would take a couple hundred dollars each to accurize them, not to mention the time involved. Then you have to somehow come up with accurate x39 ammunition.
The whole point of buying them would be to live out some extraordinarily unlikely Red Dawn fantasy of arming the locals to overthrow our communist overlords.
I think I've finally realized that neighbors who don't own guns anyways... are either going to be unwilling to pick one up on "the day," be worthless as a shooter on "the day," or need to potentially be shot on "the day." Not that I'm looking forward to or endorsing any of those three options, mind you. Or that "the day" is nigh.
So, I'll leave the SKS's and AK's and all the other "assault" rifles out there and help the prices stay low. Hopefully it might entice one of my neighbors to pick one up on a whim, since one of the gun nuts out there didn't snatch it off the market in a fit of hoplophilic compulsion.
Maybe he'll attend an Appleseed on his own volition. After all, he's got this new rifle he knows nothing about, right?
Who knows... maybe that neighbor will even pick up an AR, FAL, M14 or other more accurate specimen that I might have convinced myself to buy instead of that brace of SKS's and crate of ammo. And he'll shoot it a lot, learn to love it, become a Rifleman and seek to support the American way of life in any way he can.
I can hope, right?
So... I won't be over-reacting to the recent political situation. I'll shoot my .22 more. And I'll work on making another Rifleman.
Because if I have a Rifleman for a neighbor, I don't have to worry about who my neighbor voted for. He voted for a patriot... someone the founding fathers would have taken pride in calling a compatriot.
Ammo supplies were short before Obama was elected - many plants were running 3 shifts. The war is not going away anytime soon - and hopefully demand will continue to increase. I think they may come down a bit - but high ammo prices are here to stay.
Just my .02 worth.

thanks for the idea guys. I needed a little something extra that was missing from my gun show power point presentation
