That doesn't mean we can't practice in our warm (?) homes. I just wrote a brief post about dry fire practice with links to a few expert resources on the webz that might help pass the time while we shiver in the dark. Applicable to all firearms, not just 10/22s. I hope you find it useful.

That's an excellent post Bob. Thank you.
As the Swedes say, "Det finns inget dåligt väder, bara dåliga kläder." Or, "There's no such thing as bad weather, only the wrong clothes." ;D
Just for giggles, consider checking out Simo Hayha (sp) [sniper from Finland during the winter war] The article about him on Wikipedia mentions the temperatures he worked in. Also note his favorite type of sights. His confirmed count total shows him to be quite the Rifleman!!
Simo Häyhä has many fans up here in Alaska!

I was watching a documentary on YouTube a few nights ago about the 'Winter War', more than interesting bit of history. Shows what a motivated band of essentially riflemen can do when their back is against the wall, or a snow bank in this instance. I stopped at one point and looked out the window, snow on the flat can be measured in feet, the ambient temperature is within spitting distance of zero plus or minus, the last many days,,, and I thought ; what if,,,, ?
The temperature is one thing , I can usually deal w/ that,,, getting through the snow quite another. After watching a comparitively speaking, handful of Finns battle that Roosian Colossus to a standstill, in temps ranging to -50.
I'm thinking of taking up cross country skiing (again).

..Genmain & I are going bunny hunting/squirrel hunting this coming Fri-Sat and I hope you are coming with us. Trying to get Vietvet to come out of his house too. We could practice winter war maneuvers in honor of them freedom loving Finnish. We have plenty of snow, cold and rounds..
I had sinus repair surgery about a week and a half ago. If I don't wear a scarf over my nose when I go out, I can't stand the pain of cold air going in there.
