Northern Illinois in mid-November ... who'd'a thought we'd have this many shooters, with freezing temperatures?
Can't wait til Sunday!  Also have a brand-new Rifleman (congrats, Ken!)

Comments? Pictures?  Toss 'em here...

Just a sprinkling of snow on the ground ... followed by a flood of Riflemen!

A B also brought his Brown Bess and gear, how cool was that?

I know the photos are all over, several of you have 'em.... Ratboy and I have some here, working on them tonight for you!

************

OK, riflemen, speak up here in the comments, how did YOU do it?  Appleseeders all over the country want to know how to copy your success!

As an Instructor this was simply a great shoot.  We had a large shooting line with talented and motivated shooters who were simply nice people to work with.   Congratulations to Ken as a new Rifleman and new IIT!  Congratulations to A B for taking an Orange Hat and working his first shoot.  You did a great job!  Finally, congratulations to our other new Rifleman and I hope you will consider taking hats in the future.  Thanks are in order to the ISRA Range for hosting the event and allowing us to utilize this very nice facility.

This is one of those shoots that you feel good about for a long time.  AK and I were lucky to be there.  We will try to post photos later.

We had a great weekend spent with a fine group of dedicated American shooters and instructors. It was COLD , but I didn't hear many complaints. Everyone seemed to be enjoying what they were doing. I would like to congratulate all our new riflemen!  Wow!  We had a bunch. History was well told. The stories of the Three Strikes never get old. Shooter 30.06 told us a less familiar but very inspiring story of the Spirit of 1776. It was a weekend of shooting, discovering more about ourselves through the history of our heritage, and making new friends. Doesn't get much better. (I am posting the two pictures I have that turned out clearly. Wish I had more. )

Here are some pictures from Sunday.  We started the day with over 20 shooters and ended with 2.  Despite the cold, it was a fun day for my first shoot as an IIT!

Great event!  It was wonderful to see that many shooters on the line.  I think we had 25 participants.  It WAS cold, but the only complaints I heard came from between my ears.   ;D  It was great working with all the instructors.  Steck put on a great shoot.

There is nothing better than spending the weekend at an AS with friends and family... meeting new people... and enjoying the fresh air.

This was my first event at the ISRA range.  Wow, what a great facility.  I will definitely make it a point to hit another event here next year.

To all those whose last event of the year just passed, stay warm this winter.  I will see you next year on the line.
