I'm just posting this in case someone is in need of a good used car. I'm ordering a new company car, so this one will be available around the end of the year. I've driven it since new, meticulously maintained per leasing plan maintenance schedule, absolutely nothing mechanically wrong with the car.
2009 Impala 1LT front-wheel drive
Black with tan cloth interior
92,000 miles (probably closer to 95K by the time I turn it in)
3.5L V6 FlexFuel
Traction control, ABS, dual-zone climate control, remote start, CD/MP3 player w/ aux input, power driver's seat, front bucket seats w/ shift console
New tires in front (<10k miles), rear tires are about 60% worn.
This has been a great car. I'm actually quite impressed with it. It shows absolutely no signs of its age/mileage. Engine starts/idles/runs perfectly, transmission still shifts smoothly, no squeaks or rattles, smooth and quiet down the highway.
One minor accident - rear ended - bumper cover replaced with no damage to underlying structure.
No major repairs have ever been needed or done.
Set the cruise control for 70 MPH, and it will get you 30-31 MPG; I get 23-24 driving around town.
Currently planning to turn it back in to my company. I have an option to buy it - no smoking deal, probably right around blue book. My guess would be $7500-$8000. I won't know until I request a price. KBB says it's worth $8122.
My main reason for posting up is that buying a used car is a bit of a crapshoot, since you don't know the history of the car. I've had this car from day one for the last six years. It's a known quantity. If I had any need for it whatsoever, I'd buy it without hesitation. I also wouldn't hesitate to give it to my daughter, but she wants a truck. Let me know if you're interested. I need to know before December.
