Much progress was made this weekend in Piru, CA. Riflemen, that know what they're about...
Returnee Rifleman from Northern California, Xavier - brought his son Conner out for a little bonding over the weekend. Banging away all weekend Conner pushed hard and over the hump for a solid score and a Rifleman patch! Father & Son... Rifleman and Rifleman. Excellent.
Boris was back for round two this weekend. Apparently he took our advice to heart and dry-practiced! With exceptional sight issues (including the bottom sight coming completely loose and bottoming out), and perseverance - Boris took it to it for a score of 211. Excellent work! Congratulations!
Shooter Dan walked on Saturday morning and was a force to be reckoned with all weekend long. There was absolutely nothing we could throw in his way to phase him at all. Rifleman on Saturday and back on Sunday for more!
Mike came to us this weekend at the Saturday morning welcome, telling of how "he sucked at shooting a rifle". Sure, it took a little while... but by the end of one day with us, this guy was shooting 8-minute groups... that shrank to 6-minutes on Sunday. A little bit of dry practice and we're sure we'll get him over that Rifleman's score of 210+. Please come back. Bring your kids!
Three new Riflemen... Three new ORANGE HATS! Thank's guys for stepping up!
Please post your thoughts. Please post any pictures. Please come back. Please tell your friends. Actually... tell anyone that will listen.
To twobeagles, ventura-steve, Alexander, GratefulDog and KoolAid... Thanks for allowing me the pleasure of yet another fine weekend with you.

Had a great time at the Piru Appleseed. Great people (the best), outstanding learning, fantastic stories about the brave people that started our country, and I learned how to shoot MUCH better than when I started. I will be back to become a Rifleman.
You were darn close! Just a little dry practice and you'll be there!
You will get it. We'll meet again in November and you will.
Thank you Johnny and the other instructors. It was my third Appleseed and I continued to learn alot plus it was great fun. My son Connor really enjoyed it as well and his achievement of Rifleman on his first Appleseed is a testament to the excellent coaching you all gave him.
The range was also very good. Super quiet which allowed us all to enjoy the lunchtime history talks.
We'll both definitely return to Appleseed and if possible to Piru.
