IT WAS A FANTASTIC WEEKEND, GREAT WEATHER, GREAT SHOOTERS AND THE FOUNDER "FRED" AS THE SHOOT BOSS. WE HAD A MARYLAND APPLESEEDER PASSING THROUGH, WHO BROUGHT A NEW SHOOTER WITH HIM. THEY HAD TO LEAVE HALF WAY THROUGH SUNDAY, HAD A 7 HOUR DRIVE HOME UP NORTH. HAD SIX YOUNGSTERS ON THE LINE, ONE OF THE BEST PARTS OF THE DAY WHEN THE YOUNGEST ON THE LINE (7YO) EXCLAIMED "YIPPIE, I HIT IT". YOU WOULD HAVE THOUGHT SHE HAD WON A CAMP PERRY. HAD AN 11 YEAR OLD YOUNG LADY PREPARING FOR 4H NATIONALS, HER FATHER SHOT RIFLLEMAN WITH A SCORE OF 210, SHE WAS GIVEN THE HONOR OF DOWSING HER FATHER WITH WATER FROM THE NORTH BRIDGE. THE WATER WASPLACED UPON DAVID HACKETT FISHER'S BOOK AND BLESSED AS N.B. WATER.
ONE OTHER SHOOTER SHOT RIFLEMAN AND VOLUNTEERED TO BE A MEMBER OF THE CADRE. AGAIN IT WAS A FANTASTIC WEEKEND, WAS A GREAT TIME TO BE AN AMERICAN,
Thanks go to Kardiak Kid and the other instructors for carrying most of the load. It's easy to "Shoot Boss" when multiple other instructors are either SBs or SB quality.
Thanks to the shooters who attended. They were (and are!) a wonderful bunch of Americans. And even tho turnout was barely out of the single digits, there were at least three prospective new instructors "on the cusp".
Thanks, all!
It's "out on the Trail" - the Appleseed Trail - where you really connect with the mission of Appleseed. Every time you get to one!
THE KIDS WERE OUT IN FORCE THIS WEEKEND, BIG BROTHER SHOWING HIS SISTER THE ROPES.
EVERYONE WAS WORKING HARD, SHOOTING FOR THE PRIZE, AND LOVING LIBERTY.
The Poet GAVE ALL THREE STRIKES AND DOMS
I THINK FRED HAD A PRETTY GOOD WEEKEND.
Thanks to all the instructors and participants for a geat shoot. It is always energizing to spend some time surrounded by true patriots. It was particularly encouraging to see so many of the youngsters in attendance. A special thanks to all those who took the time to spend with them learning the important lessons that Appleseed offers. Fred - it was a pleasure to meet you and spending a few minutes chatting. Kardiak- let me know what I can do to help the cause.
