As I look outside at some of the first rains of the season it's hard to believe that this weekend is supposed to be 90*.
As much as I like being in the grass - I think we'll shoot from under the cover. Start hydrating now :cool2:
Saturday was an excellent day to be out on the range teaching marksmanship and history. We had a fine group of students that brought teachable attitudes and made excellent progress. As usual, the history was the best part of the day. At the day we had one new and one repeat rifleman. Perhaps we can get some students to take up orange hats. I understand Whit and Janer don't need theirs anymore...

Thank you all for coming out. It was an oven on Saturday and we lost a few shooters Sunday, perhaps, as a result.
The chorus of dry practice all weekend was sweet music - keep it up. Several of you found the limits of your body at the event. 5-10 minutes in prone a couple of times a week will relax those muscles and firm up that position. Remember that the keys to marksmanship are relaxed and consistent. Each rifle need to be fit to the shooter. Consider some cheek risers to get your eye in the correct spot for sight alignment. A Rifleman persists!
Congratulations to David and Travis - each put up multiple rifleman scores and to Craig who re-qualified a number of times.
Robert, thank you for bringing the boys out. Our young patriots were a reminder that we do this for posterity.
Whit and Janer both traded in worn orange hats for shinny new red ones. Both of you exemplify what it means to be a Rifleman. I look forward to each shoot we get to work together.
TheSquirrelPatrol and Prescott - thank you for stepping up this weekend to help.

Congratulations to David and Travis for shooting their rifleman scores. I hope we see you back at another event this fall, so you can get the two AS events done to be able to accept an Orange Hat. AS is always in need of more instructors!
