These may be helpful for those not familiar with the 1907 sling, such as myself. i've seen a few on the firing line and had some questions about them.

A few of us use them and prefer them. Mostly some of us old farts from way back in the sticks.
IIT's, Instructors, this is good stuff to know, because you never kjnow when one of your shooters will be using one.

Well I use them and prefer it (and my LTR's are so equipped but within 10 minutes of me loaning them out and having shown the shooter how to use it I come back and find some other instructor has removed it and stuck a USGI on there....)
If we had the time at an AS I'd love to have two models for each demo of sling and position, one using USGI and me with my 1907 - I'd beat them every time into position.
And yes I can teach/use both - can't all instructors? Some times the old stuff is the best stuff --- isn't that why we teach history and heritage...
Nickle, V, I knew that I was in good company here ;D. I do get some funny looks when I shoot my AR with a 1907 sling.
Hint to all 1907 users; We have a boot maker here (Wade). He can make you nice tight "snuggers" to keep the sling from slippin'
Wheeler44
It's what I use on both my '14 and my '15.
Wheeler, my 1907's are Springfield, get them from Midway, and they usually stay tight enough.
That being said, I appreciate the tip about Wade making keepers. I need a few of them, to replace some missing/broken ones.
If someone comes to an AS with a 1907 sling I take time to show them how to use it, otherwise it's something to discuss during a break. I too prefer the 1907 slings, and have them on my serious hunting and military rifles. But then, I've recently discovered I'm one of the old farts . . . :D.
If you do it that way, you're doing your shooters a gross disservice.
We're using stocks with QD studs to demo slings and positions, and we have a 1907 sling handy to do that one too. Takes all of about 2 minutes or less to demonstrate.
The Marine Corp and apparent the Army has gone to the Quick Cuff MODEL TWO Precision Rifle Sling to replace the M1907 sling. I called and spoke with Mike Miller who is the designer of the sling and he is going to send me a couple. Does anyone have any experience with these on an M1 Garand or the 10/22?

No, Sir, but it looks interesting. Let us know how you like it.
I'm really struggling with my M1907 sling adjustment; I think I've read every internet article and watched every video on the web. The part that is hanging me up is the tightening of the loop around my bicep; how the heck do I do that?

I ordered and received 3 of these slings. I installed one on an M1 Garand and it is a VERY good quality sling and has an arm cuff that is built into the sling that eliminates the requirement to constantly change adjustment for various uses and positions. I like it. Here is a better description and pictures:

For those who wish to order one, they can be ordered from Mike Miller directly at Tactical Intervention Specialists. Mike is an Apple Seed supporter although not a member yet. PM me if yo decide to order a sling and I can provide you with an Apple Seed discount code.

With the keeper.
I noticed that you did not include your location in your account profile. There may be one of us in your area that could help you with it until you get yourself to your first event, Sir.
At Ramseur we teach the 1907 sling during the shoot. We've had a number of people show up with one. Once broken in you can get in and out of it fast and the feel of leather wow!
Although my former Marine father raised myself and my brothers on a diet of smallbore rimfire and the model of 1907 sling, I have used the web sling now for many years. Perhaps it's time to do some leather again for a change. >:D
For sling tips and the 1907 in particular - I like Ray Vin :)
