I have a 20" AR with a detachable carry handle and standard A2 front sight. I'm looking at buying one of these Viper PST's. http://www.vortexoptics.com/product/vortex-viper-pst-1-4x24-riflescope-with-tmcq-moa-reticle Can anyone recommend a mount that will either clear or co-witness my front sight and provide eye relief?

You wont want to clear the FSP. The post will disappear around 2-2.5x of zoom. Im a Vortex dealer, and I always recommend a 2-3 inch cantilever mount. As far as brand, that would depend on if you want QD, or Perm attach.

Thanks. I'll be buying from vette.

Trust 42769vette, he knows what he is talking about. I have a vortex scope (bought from him) mounted on my AR with a 3" cantilever Vortex mount and it's perfect. I had a 2" Cantilever P.E.F.R. on it at first and didn't have enough eye relief. He ships so don't hesitate to deal with him either. He stands by his product.
Good point, the sling shooter shoots in a different position than most "tactical shooters" With a pronounced turkey neck the 3 inch offset is preferred with this particular scope.
Alan is the man. Trust him when it comes to optics. I'm not sure there is a man in the business who knows more.
Oh, you mean the bench rest guys!

Don't be so quick to scoff at the BR shooter ... we can learn from them too and liberate the best they have to offer. After all, aren't we trying to turn our bodies into a bench rest when we sling up?
I have an American Defense Mfg. On my A2 DMR. http://www.americandefensemanufacturing.com/view/product/5/
