H, there! I was at an Appleseed a few months ago at Wolverton and there was an instructor who had a chest rig for his .22 gear, primarily for holding 10 round mags. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or have recommendations for a good rig?
As you generally only need 2 mags, a carrier is not needed.
This is not about the gear. It's about heritage and marksmanship.
What works better is to find your NPOM, Natural Point Of Mag. This is the location while in prone or seated where your trigger hand will fall when dropped from the stock. That's where you want your magazine.

It's not a chest rig, but this works great on the belt:

It holds 2 Ruger 10/22 10-round magazines. I used to use it as a kid when I hunted rabbits as a teen. I use it to keep a pair of magazines together and when standing. As 2cl stated, having the mags on the mat for the transition stages of the AQT allows for quicker loads and reloads.

Not absolutely necessary, but the old Chinese SKS chest rig would work, and they are relatively inexpensive. Picked one up at the last gun show for $5. You see them at pawn shops and military surplus stores as well.

Chest-rig for 10/22? ???
Just get a fishing vest - they usually have a bunch of small pockets...
40mm grenade vest works well plus it's mesh for cooling. Holds up to 20 mags to get you through that tough AQT ;D
Thanks all!
