It was a great weekend at Northern Chester County Sportsmans Club.
We had 4 shooters and not one was from Pennsylvania. Barbie, Frank (aka "Buckles) and Patrick from New York were joined by Ken from the Commonwealth of Virginia.
The weather could not have been better, but it was not as good as the shooting this weekend. Frank posted the high score for the weekend with Barbie a point behind at 237 and 236 respectively. Ken scored a 1st Pennsylvania Rifles patch by cleaning the Sunday AM Redcoat with some very tight groups.
It was great having Barbie on the line. Yes she is the "Barbie" formerly from Indiana and now living and SBing in New York. Frank is a professional firearms instructor as is Barbie.
Ken and Patrick kept the discussion almost surreal as they both have degrees in advanced math and physics they had some very interesting theories which they bounced off of the Shoot Boss who managed to somehow survive in spite of being completely outclassed by them.
It was great having 4 students who were well above the average attendee and returning Appleseeders all. We were able to expand on the normal Appleseed experience and get into some more advanced areas and techniques.
Thanks to all of you for helping to make this one of the best Appleseeds I have ever done.
Please come back, soon!
A big thank you to NCCSC for hosting us and allowing us to use this wonderful facility.(//)(//)
I had a great time at the shoot, and we couldn't have had nicer weather... 80* and sunny the entire weekend.
Ken and Patrick, you two showed quite the improvement over the weekend, keep up the good work!
I liked how during breaks we had some pretty good conversations about effects of wind when shooting KD, 1st and 2nd focal planes of scopes, and heaven knows what else. Yeah, there was a lot of math talk, but I (even being mathematically challenged!) was able to follow along and managed to learn a thing or two.
All in all great time, and I'll definitely be border raiding again... maybe throwing on my hat next time, who knows :)
