It's too bad Vienna Fish & Game Club only hosts one Appleseed every year, because they do an AWESOME job. It is a great range with a covered firing line, the Club members are very helpful and accommodating, and they serve lunch! The weather couldn't have been better, and the students, varying from teenagers to septuagenarians, came eager to learn to shoot and share our American heritage.
It was a successful weekend for both students and instructors. Alex, Baron, and David each cleared at least one Redcoat. Most of the students showed great improvement in their marksmanship over the weekend, in spite of some equipment issues. David got in some quality time with his AR on Sunday, and at the end of the day Birdman and Chevy Shooter brought out their Garands.
Finally, a couple of our instructors stepped their game up a notch, Birdman earning promotion to Instructor, and Invictus Maneo to Shoot Boss. And mega-kudos to MsMtnEagle for her work on promoting this event, filling the line, and doing a super job as our Local Boots on the Ground!
Watch for this event on the schedule next year, and come check it out!
Sorry about the pictures. I'll have to spend some time figuring out my new camera. :slap:

Huzzah!
HUZZAH!!!
Well done to all! I'm glad to hear the numbers are picking up as well!
What a great weekend! Perfect weather! A great group of instructors and students willing to LEARN! ^:)^ Lots of positive feedback from everyone I spoke to, and they are all eager to do it all again next year! So... will keep you posted on the date for next years shoot! There were lots of milestones achieved this weekend, and I am thrilled to have been part of it all!
Big Congratulations to Invectis Maneos and Birdman for their promotions! Hard work pays off!
The whole crew did a great job problem solving and helping those who needed a helping hand. I am so proud of the Appleseed Volunteers, and also proud of the folks who came out to participate, and to watch. Most of the Instructor crew traveled anywhere from 1 hour to 2 1/2 hours to be there, it is GREATLY appreciated! People were coming up to me and saying "Wow, you weren't kidding! This IS a great event!" Made my day that the efforts were so appreciated by the participants.
Now.. back to planning for NEXT year! O0 If you can think of ANYTHING I can do to make next year even MORE successful or better, please PM me and I'll see what I can do. I may start going to other fish and game club meetings in this area to promote the program a few months before. I think it will improve attendance and we can then better share the skills and knowledge that Appleseed brings.

This was my first time at an Appleseed event. I had NO idea what to expect, but knew that others had loved it. It was a great learning experience. The instructors were TOP NOTCH! And I look forward to doing this again ... and again .... and again!!!! Great job, all!!!
I have great memories of Vienna Appleseed shoots. Birdman was at the first one and congrats to him on becoming an Instructor. Great that Vienna hosts the Appleseed Shoots and Pam is doing a great job as boots on the ground at Vienna. ^:)^
