My appleseed rifle. M1 Garand in 22 rimfire. I built this one myself out of junk Garand parts and a 10/22 receiver.
Shot a 225 with it.
OK, you can't just put up a post like that an not expect a firestorm to launch
WE MUST HAVE MORE PICTURES!!! AND A PHOTO ESSAY ON HOW YOU BUILT IT!!!
Let me be the first to post that if you want to sell that bad boy, consider yourself to have a standing offer.
That is freaking awesome. I would love to know how you did it also.
Yes, tell us more.
But, in the meantime, remember to get that muzzle over the firing line!
That is so cool! Yes, definitely more info needed!

I am working on a build tutorial. I will post it here when completed. It is almost dimensionally the same as a full sized Garland except 1.5 inches shorter. ....Oh and shoots really good! O0
That looks a lot better than the one I build with a 10/22. I too would like to see the build details.

Do you have any concept of the size of the gold pile that you are current sitting on?
That looks awesome. I'm looking forward to the build tutorial.
Oh My! That is AWESOME!
Yeah. I'm gonna need a parts list so I can build one for myself...
Looks great and I'd love to make one as well. A couple questions though...looks like the 10/22 receiver is mounted in a Garand receiver somehow...
Is the Garand receiver still a firearm? Was it demilled first?
Is the 10/22 receiver serial number obscured?
There were no Garand receiver parts used in this build. The only receiver part used was the demilled rear of an m14 that I purchased from Fulton Armory so that I would have a sight base for the rear peep sight. I was going to use a demilled Garand rear half but could not find one. All parts used were easily obtainable junk parts and no Garands were harmed in this build. Most of the receiver parts were constructed from steel bar and tubing. It is basically a cover that uses the scope mount holes for attachment. The 10/22 receiver was not modified in any way. It does use a shot out Garand barrel that I got from Sarco for 20 bucks. The barrel is sleeved at the chamber, drilled and a 22 liner is installed. The barrel is then machined to fit the 10/22 receiver.

Very cool. I've seen some cut up M14 receivers that used to be machineguns available from time to time, so this is certainly a nice way to give them a new life.

Also very cool. My concern with covering the 10/22 receiver would be if you did obscure the serial number that could be a problem. Couldn't see it from the angle of the picture you posted though.
Impressive!
Wow.
Merica
I'm gonna bump this up because this is an amazing project! My hat's off to you sir.

Meanwhile, that gold pile sits waiting.
Build info coming soon. I promise. I have been very busy with gunsmith work lately along with my job that pays the bills.
Bump.
In case you thought we forgot... We are patiently waiting for more details.

That is a nice shooting stick. How is the recoil? Does all that mass help to tame the vicious .22LR round? :~ **)
I hate it when I envy someone else's stuff.
Must have...must have...must have...trembling...reaching for wallet....argh!

Guys I promise its coming! I am just soooo busy right now. I want the tutorial to be a quality post.
This is definitely the coolest thing I have seen in a long time.
I would love to have one!

If you need any incentive, I'll run the tutorial as an article in the Appleseed newsletter!

My husband was reading this post over my shoulder and now he's pestering me for updates on how you did this. I see many late nights in the garage in his near future... ;D :slap:
