Title: Casper Wyoming AAR 26-27 April 2014
Post by: M1bzrk on April 28, 2014, 10:22:01 AM
We had a lovely Appleseed here for the 2nd time at the Stuckenhoff Shooters Complex in Casper.  This year we used the long distance range.

I have to admit that even for Wyoming the weather was pretty brutal.  We fought high winds, rain and snow all weekend.  But we prevailed!

We had one Rifleman, Joe MacGuire, who shot a 223.  First Appleseed and first AQT.  Congratulations, Joe!  He used a tube-fed, to boot.

We only shot one Redcoat and one Squares before proceeding to AQTs.
These folks caught on quickly!  I have not seen such rapid improvement before.
Perhaps they were terrified that the weather would get worse - they were right.

We stayed until 1900 hrs Saturday and got in 2 AQTs.

Sunday the rain turned to snow and the wind really picked up.  We had three shooters stick out the last AQT, one of whom was a young lady.  She shot a 111 which was truly amazing considering how the targets were bouncing.  Kudos to Christen - she has what it takes!

Thanks to all the shooters, from 10 to Grandparent age for sticking it out.
Thanks to Stuckenhoff for letting us hold another Appleseed.
Thanks to Rocket who came down from Powell, BigLonely from Guernsey, Beemer from Sheridan, Cory Mathis who could not be there but got us supplies, and Powder River Armory who saved the day by renting a 20 X 60 tent which saved the weekend.
