What a great day for Appleseed. ^:)^ Eunice Rifle and Gun Club hosted one of it's largest shoots yet. 16 Patriots turned out to honor our Fore Fathers. 4 of our shooters showed very well what they were about by earning their Rifleman patches. O0
Congrats to Brent Lavern, Brady Holley, Mike Ragsdale and Rowdy Price. Mr. Stacey Sonneland proved he is still a "Dangerous Old Man" by turning in a requalifying score of his own. Thanks to Steve McPeek for coming out to help. We've done so many AppleSeeds together People think we are Brothers. **)
Great day...great shoot...great to see Allen and Steve again along the trail...you both did a super job in coaching the 4 new rifleman to excellance in the abbreviated 1 day shoot. Thanks for your kind remarks Allen!....Hezikiah would approve....remember though that age is nothing but experience...so I am very exprienced! I hope to recruit a few newbies for your June shoot....I also will try and get Stephen and Ian down for re-qual.
Steve.....i think my extractor spring broke on my AR and caused the FTE problem...do not know if the Win round stuck in the chamber and caused the break or if spring broke first and thus failed to extract the round. New spring ordered.
I am very impressed with the accuracy of the Appleseed Marllin 795 I just bought (been using 10/22)
For me:1- I was unable to get close enough to the tech sight to get proper sight alignment
2-I therefore put a 6.99 tasco on (4x) and raised the check weld position with pool noodle
3- this worked well in enabling me to get a sight picture in standing but I lost it in prone and sitting and thus was only able to score 166 on the aqt
4-given that this is a new rifle and its first shoot I was well pleased. It grouped 3 5s on stage 4 that you could cover with a dime!CCI min mag hp
5- I am going to make adj and get this ready to give my grandson for his LTR
