AFTER ACTION REPORT: Newberry, South Carolina: April 12 and 13, 2014
Temperatures were in the 50s in AM and low 80s F in PM. Beautiful, sunny, wind was calm most of both days
The Newberry Pistol Club outdoor range is primitive; no electricity, no bathrooms.
We had 6 students on Saturday and 6 on Sunday.
Students were extremely enthusiastic; all were first time Appleseed attendees.
Shoot Boss: TAZDevil
Red Hats: TheIronMantis and DrJohn
IITs: jumpboot (IIT4 promoted to RED HAT) and General Stuart (IIT3 promoted to IIT4)
Instruction was excellent from the IITs, with a special shout out to jumpboot's promotion to RED HAT. I am honored to have that pleasure.
Great weather for early April in South Carolina.
This was the SAFEST AS that I have Shoot Bossed
We did not create any riflemen; however all will be capable in one or two more seeds.
Congratulations to those who attended this Appleseed.
The students were very proficient at handling their rifles. Nice tight groups were produced (even the newbie to rifles, Tad, who listed himself at a skill level of 1.
The rapid fire stages caused problems for the majority of the students, otherwise quite a few knocking at the rifleman door.
On Sunday we shot at 100 yd. We demonstrated that our 25 meter accuracy prevailed at 100 yds with .22 LR cartridges!
EVERYONE was receptive to the message of liberty! And that will bring them back to future seeds; I am sure.
What a great pleasure to meet and get to know such fine American Patriots as attended the Newberry Appleseed event last weekend. I quip that a monkey can be taught how to shoot and that it is of no moral significance whatever. But the students who attended Newberry well understand the critical importance of Liberty and are all awakened Americans. What a joy to be able to associate with such fine people. Your country needs you and all of you answered the call last weekend.Blessings on all six of you stalwarts, and my sincerest wish to see all of you again.
Sounds like an awesome shoot! Congrats to every American who came out to learn about Liberty!
Really was a great shoot. Congrats to Jumpboot.
