Title: Puryear, Tn March 29-30, 2014
Post by: LesMoore on April 01, 2014, 11:46:39 PM
We started with 8 shooters on a cold and rainy Saturday morning.  Although the rain stopped at about 10:00, the sun never came out.  The problem with that was the weather forcast led us all to believe it would be a nice afternoon, so no one was prepared for cold wind all day.  But, all 8 shooters, and 3 instructors, hung in there!!  We all shivered through instruction and shooting, but it was a good day anyway with 1 Rifleman, who was a first time Appleseeder, on the only AQT on Saturday-a score of 214.

On Sunday everyone returned with a beautiful day for shooting!  Although no more Rifleman patches were handed out, much progress was made, and several scoring near 200.  I feel confident with another Appleseed more of those shooters will earn their patch.  We had 1 shooter learn that the sling really is a good thing!!!

I hope everyone had a great time, and more importantly, learned a little about our heritage.  I hope everyone walked away a little more appreciative of those sacrifices made on April 19, 1775, and in the days to follow.  I hope to see everyone again down the road!

We had a great time with some hearty Patriots in Puryear last weekend. Although we only had one Rifleman out of 8 shooters on the line there were several within striking distance. John shot a 207 and was one throw-away shot from Rifleman. I expect to see many of these folks at other upcoming Appleseed events in the Tennessee Valley area.

We didn't take many pictures but here are a few of the best ones I managed to get.

See you on the line soon.

The sling should be higher above your bicep.

Les,

I had a great time and I'm impressed with the entire Appleseed program.  Thanks for volunteering to come out in that weather and help us learn how to shoot. Hopefully I'll see you guys again later this year.  O0

Ramblin',

I'll see you this weekend and I will get my patch!

Hey Harmonica,
I'd love to be the one to award it to you.  ;)   I'll be late arriving on Saturday but y'all start without me and I'll catch up.

We all had a fantastic time and thanks so much for hanging in there with us as we struggle along  ;D

I listen, I just don't always implement ???

I did link up with Grandson of Liberty and he came by the house and we are hoping to work together a bit in the future.

I ordered the instructor pack from Fred's and you can bet I am looking for my Rifleman patch next go round.

Thanks so, so much for all you guys do.

Alan
