WOW!!!!! ^:)^
What a wonderful, wonderful weekend of History and Marksmanship.
7 Americans came out to learn and hear the stories of their heritage. The weather was a bit touch and go on the rain...a few sprinkles during the morning on Saturday, but mostly just cloudy and cold as temps were in the upper 40's both days. The major rain held off till we were done for the day.
5 of the 7 shooters were returning Appleseed students and it was good to see familiar faces. 2 new students were welcomed too.
It was evident from the first Red Coat that this group was focused on learning and improving. Each square showed improvement and dedication.
We stopped for lunch, hot burgers, hot dogs, drinks and such, part of a fundraiser for the local youth trap club. It was sure nice to stop for lunch and have a hot burger waiting for you... Strikes told to a very appreciative audience, which included a few folks from the bbq.
Back out on the line, we finished in time to get in a few AQT's. No rifleman scores but a couple folks were knocking on the door... Carrie...cleared the evening Red Coat!!! GREAT JOB!! :---
I almost forgot....sheesh...we got the best mid afternoon break I have ever had in my almost 5 years in Project Appleseed....Chris and Dave, Carrie's in-laws, brought out still warm from the oven huge homemade cinnamon rolls.....did I mention they were still warm...HEAVENLY......
We finished up as thunder was rumbling in the distance and the clouds were getting darker.
Sunday we got an early start as every one was there. We worked on reviewing Saturday's lessons and seeing great improvement along the way. Stumbling blocks both mental and equipment were being pushed aside and over come.
Rob, a first time Appleseed participant, posted a 210 and was (in consideration to the temps and wind) was sprinkled with water from the North Bridge. He proved it wasn't coincidence by posting a 218 a bit later. ^:)^ ^:)^
Returning Appleseed participant, Carrie posted a very nice 217. Her sons were jealous...and vow to beat her score.... :~ ^:)^
Matthew is sooo very close posting a 206 on the last AQT. Next time, Matthew, next time....
Paul, great job and wonderful improvement.
Christopher and Jacob....Mom's score will be hard to beat....better get to practicing. ^-^
Raven.....2 days of rifle shooting. You were AWESOME!! Get that rear sight fixed and I think you'll be on your way!!! O0
Sunday's rain held off till we were cleaned up and off the range...drove home in the rain.
Big thanks to NorCal Jr Clay Busters for lunch! Chris and Dave....oh those cinnamon rolls...
TO MY INSTRUCTORS...THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! I REALLY COULDN'T DO THIS WITHOUT YOU.
