Title: New Match Idea
Post by: jmdavis on March 28, 2014, 04:00:54 PM
The 200 yard smallbore prone or bench with wrist rest matches seem to have petered out. I really enjoyed them but we usually had less than 10 and as few as 6 shooters.

While I am not personally that interested in F-class, something like the matches being described in the article below might be interesting to a broader segment of the shooting public than 200 yard .22lr prone matches.

If anyone in VA is still interested in the idea of 200 yard prone, I will try to set something up shooting either paper or steel. Just let me know.

Which day of the month is the 200-yard match? We have so much going on these days I don't know if we have a schedule conflict or not. Benchrest shooting never interested me much, so I would pass on F-class.

We had our first Rimfire 3-Position match at Rivanna last weekend . Only six shooters showed up, but they all had a good time. Got through three AQTs. All Appleseeders in VA are welcome, every fourth Saturday of the month through October.

The matches were the first Saturday after the BPCR match. But there hasn't been one for the past few months. Back in the fall there was talk of an offhand 22 match using reduced A-targets at 75 yards. It seems never to have caught on either.

Instead of the 200 yard .22 matches the group is now shooting 500 yards at a 30 inch bull with similar rules to the 22lr matches. However I suggest that you check with me before coming so that I can make sure one will be shot that month.
