Greetings,
I have been contacted by the planning committee for the Patriot's Day event that will be held at the Kootenai County Fairgrounds (in Coeur d'Alene) on Saturday, April 19th. A similar event was held last year in the parking lot of Black Sheep, which drew about 2,000 people.
On April 19th, the Oathkeepers will be renting the large building at the fairgrounds and hosting several speakers, such as local elected officials Matt Shea and Vito Barbieri. Hopefully someone from the firearms industry as well as others.
They are hoping for organizations to be there to hand out information and answer questions about how to get more involved.
They have asked if AS has someone who would be willing to appear as one of the speakers. They have specifically mentioned a "Where heritage and history meet" speeches at the event. Also, informational booth space will be offered for $30 for the event, in case we want to have a booth set up.
Normally, I'd be happy to take this on, but I have a potential conflict that takes me out of the area that week, and it won't be confirmed until late March. If you are willing to speak or coordinate a booth, please let me know by PM/email and I'll forward contact info to the interested parties.
Thanks,
EERT
OK Folks,
I'm just a wee bit disappointed in the lack of response I've received on this event. Mr. Clean is the only volunteer. I will handle the speaking aspect, but we could still use some volunteers for booth manning shifts.
Appleseed got a lot of great exposure at the Oathkeepers Preparedness Fair last year which contributed to about 50% of our AS Clinic attendance post fair. Given what the Coeur d'Alene attendance was last year, we could surely use this publicity for the coming year.
You don't have to be an Orange or Red Hat to volunteer, just have the desire to spread our good word. Please send Mr. Clean and I a PM if you could assist.
I hope to see you there.

What eert said. Promotions is what gets people on the line. In fact, Nero tells me that a family came to a shoot in California because of the contact they made with us at the Oathkeepers event last summer.
It is best to have instructors and blue hats man a booth, but friends of Appleseed are always welcome. They can share a shooter's perspective with folks and learn more about our mission and message. Perhaps they might be willing to take a blue hat afterward.

I missed this thread somehow when first posted, but I will be happy to help man a booth. Sending PM.
