In an upcoming issue of the Appleseed newsletter, we'd like to feature a few online videos that are good representations of Appleseed and our mission, both for attracting new shooters, and providing information to our existing supporters. So we are turning to our instructors, previous shooters and other friends for suggestions, which will be sorted down to somewhere between ten and twelve to be featured in our article.
The videos can be official Appleseed material, done by an AS instructor, by a shooter or videoblogger, or in some categories they can be relevant content from any source. These can be on any service that can play through an ordinary web browser - Youtube, Vimeo, etc. You probably don't want anything hosted on a personal server - based on previous experience, each link will each get 500 - 1000 hits within a day or so.
We're looking for suggestions in several categories, which are listed below. Please reply in this thread with a URL, proposed category, and a few words about why it's great. Thanks in advance for your great recommendations!
Categories:
Appleseed for the First-Timer: What is it, why should you come? Includes general reviews by previous shooters and others, as well as official and instructor cadre videos. Special interest is fine, e.g., home school, scouts...
Preparing for a 'seed: What should you have? How should you get ready? Includes relevant gear and rifle reviews.
Relevant marksmanship content: Vids of AS or AS-related instruction or technique, from basics (6 steps, etc.) to KD and other advanced lessons
Relevant heritage content: The Strikes and stories themselves, or 4/19/1775 specific vids, or compatible content on the background of the Revolution and the war itself.
Other: It's cool, it's Appleseed related, but it doesn't fit anywhere else.
