Title: Fort Meade MD Known Distance Nov 17
Post by: BeSwift on November 17, 2013, 07:42:08 PM
Just finished Maryland's FIRST full distance Appleseed, and man, am I excited.. 11 shooters joined us , and put together a great day on the line. 90+% were prior Appleseeders, so the review was minimal and we dove in head first to the KD course of instruction and AQT COF. We managed to get everyone thru 2 full AQT's at full distance, in addition to several history breaks, sighters, and working thru a few "bugs" in running the event. A special thank you to the 7 instructors AND additional club volunteers who went above and beyond bringing this event to fruition.

The takeaways?  KD is a LOT harder than most students believed. One student managed to earn scores of 216 & 231 and he'd never shot beyond 100 yards before today. The rest of the students... well, lets say they were humbled by the experience, will rise to the challenge and will persist until successful.

A lot of valuable experience was gained by the students AND instructor corp at this event, and everyone left satisfied, tired, and better for having attended the event.

Time to get some rest..  Thanks All for a GREAT event!    BeSwift
