MAC66 entered the "design a ruger 10/22 contest". He actually made the top 10! Now he needs your vote to win. You can vote once a day. (or more if you have computers on different modem lines) Let's show our AS strength and push "GARY MICHIGAN" to victory!

Heck slim, if that's your taste then you're all ready to step it up a bit.

Thanks guys. I just got back from a Libertyseed and had no idea I was in the top ten. I think the grand prize winner gets $5K worth of Ruger guns. I'm thinking that if I win I will donate one I pick to raffle off as fund raiser for Libertyseed. Vote early and vote often.
I voted for you Mac, but how about a rifle with an even longer barrel?
You can also vote from other devices if its more convenient.
Done! (for today, Monday)
For those of you that do that "Facebook" thing, you have a task to set up a fire mission. Barrage that vote, FIRE FOR EFFECT. :---

As a top 10 guy, you at minimum get one Ruger firearm of your choice. I think you should get one of the new 7.62 AR platform rifles then donate it to the Warlord of the West for research purposes. You know...for science...and stuff.
Hit again for Monday. Will find wifi later and hit it again.
Had to vote..he's a Michigan man!
Done, Cause He is an Appleseed Instructor, a Friend, and because His design, can be used as a Appleseed LTR!!!!!
HUZZAH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think that's a good idea! Who knows if the Warlord of the West will share the new toy...

Now if you want emperical, evidence-based sciencey research you need to get an engineer to do the research, hey, I'm one of those. But if you want touchy-feely marketing research, then by all means send it west.

Well since I get to chose one Ruger firearm, I think I will chose a 10/22, no wait...maybe a GSR, no wait, maybe the SR762, no wait, maybe I don't know yet
Even the grand prize winner would be no match for the Warlord of the West.

Being as the WotW is currently leader of the Sunset Coast Expeditionary Force on detached service, feel free to send it to me and I'll be certain he gets it. Just don't speak to him about it, ever. He will be embarrassed by your generosity and too shy to speak. Just enjoy the quiet assurance that
my your rifle is in
my good hands.
Voted yesterday, voted today, will vote again tomorrow!
FYI, Just talked to the people at Ruger and they emailed me the paperwork to pick my choice of a firearm. I have not chosen yet but the guy mentioned that every finalist picked the same one. Can anyone guess what it is?
What would you pick?
BTW, no prizes until after the grand prize winner is chosen but they are guessing that the non-grand prize winners will have their guns before Christmas maybe even by the end of November.
SR-762.
Get back to voting!!!! I want a 10/22 that I don't have to overhaul.
Be sure to vote!
I like the Gunsight Scout Rifle but I imagine the SR-762 will be the popular choice.

Thanks SH. Keep pushing the vote ~~:) ^-^
BTW the other nine finalists all picked the SR 762 from what the contest guy said. I will probably make it unanimous. ..:..
By the way, Ruger's asking for feedback on three additional designs that "could influence another future Ruger product." "Robert in Vermont" is absolutely running away with that competition - 58% of the vote, currently - for his M1 Carbine design! Needless to say, I cast my vote for that one, too...

Been voting every day. Mac, you're really moving up! Only one percent to go for the lead!
Really like the M1 carbine clone in the "best of the rest" voting. Hey, that would make a good LTR also!
Voted... will vote again tomorrow... :shootself:
The engineer in me has no problem at all voting for Gary's design, Appleseed brother or not. (Not sure I like the birdcage on it but anything that protects the crown and keeps students from shoveling dirt in the bore is a good thing. ;D)
The traditionalist in me also likes Rick's entry, though he's not gaining much traction.
Woohoo! Pulling for Gary hard over here in Washington- He is at %17 nudging Chris's design at %18.
Give us a day and he will be the front runner.
*Adjustable for length of pull
*Aperture rear and post front sights
*Longer sight radius hence better accuracy.
*Picatinny rail milled into the receiver for mounting a scope - a more secure/better aligned universal mount than the 'adapter' provided, also works well for quick release scope rings.
*Muzzle break/flash suppressor- main use on a 22 cal is to protect the muzzle from debris if it is inadvertently stuck in the dirt- also allows for a threaded barrel to attach a silencer.
These are just the obvious things- hopefully the internals will be updated as well to include all the 'fixes' we have to add on each 10/22 to make them operate better.
Not a fan of the take down version-
Love me a wood stock. The flat-finished M1 makes me lust after it's lack of luster. But that Safari Rifle! So sexy too.... I would love that stock on a Ruger American Bolt-action .22cal
Anybody know who makes that "Safari Rifle" stock?
Vote Gary!
Best wishes,
Steve
The M1 Carbine really works well if You put normal Sling swivels and a GI sling on it, doing the same to a 10/22 Carbine clone should work as well. (No I bought some new made M1 Carbine stocks from DuPage that I installed Sling swivels on)
Voted.
I voted!!!! ::)

Voted, we have until Friday, 11/1 to drive this one home!
HH
Interestingly, someone pointed out that the webpage hadn't been updated since Friday. They predicted that no one noticed it and it really motivated them to get out the vote. I can confirm that my non appleseed family and friend emailed me and texted me all weekend about how they've been voting but there was no movement. This prompted them to call, email, text everyone they knew to vote.
I suspect that Fred's emails to thousands of ASer did the trick to get out the vote as well.
I should have had faith but I admit I was shocked to be 6 points up when they updated the page this morning. I can't thank everyone enough  and can only say KEEP VOTING! ~~:) ;D
Wow what surprise!
Obviously a testament to the popularity of the design/shooting discipline. Ruger must be loving the result too because the design is clearly marketable.
Vote Gary!

My thoughts exactly. :) I couldn't help noting that Gary is now IN the lead, with 24% of the vote! And, Robert in Vermont is running away with "the Best of the Rest" for his M1 carbine conversion with 64% of the vote... ;D
24%!!! Great job Mac! ..:..
Just sent an email blast to all my "Liberty Loving" family, friends and shooting club. Told them about the vote.
Hopefully Ruger will see the light and produce the LTR not only as a limited production 50th Anniversary edition but will continue to produce them in the future. As a great man once said.."If you hold their feet to the fire long enough eventually they will see the light!"
Spread the word!
Salty
RWVA Appleseed wants to train Patriot Marksmen.
Ruger wants to sell significant firearms.
Mac has simply set up the match made in Heaven!
VOTE GARY!

I wouldn't say, "solidly" - unless you want to count your chickens before they hatch...
Now is not the time to get over confident - or even confident - Chris from TN has held at 18% despite all the additional votes we've added, so he has people out there pushing for his concept, just like we do ours.
It would be shame if the last night of voting saw such a surge of votes for him (or anyone else) so as to put us back in second.
Let's keep at it; let's
persist - like the riflemen we all are! O0
just added another vote, I have been voting daily. Hope everyone else has as well.
Way to go mac!
