Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club was our host for a Soggy-Seed. Drizzle dampened our shooters but not their spirits. 18 Shooters came out on Saturday and 9 returned for Sunday. Our shooters were willing to keep going and even smiling as Sunday afternoon turned into a deluge. I'll add more later once my equipment and rifles dry out.
You know what we do is worthwhile when you ask a young shooter on a Saturday morning if she is excited to be here and she is. You know what kind of person she is when she is still smiling Sunday afternoon and she has been out in over an inch of rain for the last couple of hours.
We did not manage to "patch" any riflemen but I defy anyone to say we did not have the rifleman spirit on our range.
Great job from our IITs and Instructors in challenging circumstances. Batherick, JL, and PleasedtoAim kept the line safe and sgtmace, FiremanBob and Dangerous Cook kept dispensing knowledge and enthusiasm.
I must say I was amazed at how many turned out given the weather. However I was impressed by their will to stick it out and persist at trying to shoot a rifleman's score in those conditions. Awesome job all way round, students and instructors alike.
