Oz, tomahawk and I took my Tactilite .50 BMG upper out to sight in the scope. First shot I was thinking about everything but my position...with expected result. Did you know that your head bleeds a lot when the scope hits it?
On subsequent shots, proper eye relief, turkey neck and cheek weld allowed my head to ride WITH the recoil rather than try to match wits with it. It was (comparatively) quite a pleasant experience to fire it...like a shove. A really big shove. By an NFL linebacker. Who is mad.
At 11000+ ft lbs of energy at the muzzle, there a lot of recoil there, no matter how you look at it.

Ouch.
(Sort of like a modern day Schmiss? lol)
You can put your scope eye pics in the MI Instructor forum and no one will make fun of you, or copy it to be shared at an IBC, or put on the internet as a meme. Nope, none of that would happen...
Honest and for true...

It's amazing that a tiny little cut can let so much blood out
ST2 - who is always willing to take one for the team for the sake of hilarity at the IBC
Take care of it. That's bigger than my finger cut this summer. Don't let it get infected and have your head double in size. <G>
I expected nice round cut,
Sort of like this:

p.s. I do not recommend nor endorse anyone taking this image and superimposing Pete's head onto any current or future photos of Steel Thunder....

Any way to sling that bad boy up? You would be amazed at the amount of recoil reduction (felt that is) with a good tight sling on a rifle.
