Title: Marlin 795 LTR
Post by: Brown on October 02, 2013, 03:25:08 PM
I received the official notice (and a verification photo from the production floor ) that the Marlin LTR is now under first run production. Look for them to be available from Davidsons soon.

The "stock watch" feature is also available again on Davidson's. So you can get an e-mail when they become available: http://www.galleryofguns.com/genie/Default.aspx?item=70677&7

A sincere thank you to everyone who shepherded this idea from concept to fruition.  This could/should be a case study in persistence, teamwork and dedication. Appleseeders from multiple states banded together to get this idea out to this point.

Now, we need to push it out to the country and make it happen. Talk it up and let's get a semi-load of 'em headed out to future Riflemen.

confirmation phone call from Marlin that the first 500 795 LTR's are shipped to Davidsons and should arrive in inventory this week. If you want one better get on stock watch and have $$ ready. these will probably go quick.

They haven't actually been in stock yet. They've been added to the catalog for quite some time though, always showing 0 stock.

In Stock right now. lowest quote I had for picking up the rifle at a local FFL was $286.50 including all taxes and fees.

Picked mine up tonight. No Appleseed gift certificate in the box. Is it a mail in offer?

To the best of my very limited knowledge, it should have been in the box, not a mail-in thing.  Someone who is in direct contact with the folks at Marlin will probably be along shortly to provide a more definite answer.

In any case, we will make sure you get taken care of.  Stay close while we figure this out.  I'm hoping the 500 GoG shipment aren't ALL screwed up.   %)

Looks nice, by the way.  That's the first I've seen a customer picture of.  Go shoot it!

My local FFL took delivery of 7 Marlin 795 LTRs yesterday; we found that the PA Gift Certificates, as well as the Gallery of Guns certificates were found in a separate, clear bag - NOT inside the Marlin boxes.

Started to hear about this mid afternoon on Friday . Have emailed Davidsons and Marlin to make them aware so they can change the location of where they put the certificates.

They have no expiration date. 2014,2015, I am sure no SB is going to turn anyone away from the line unless they think it is being abused

I'm going to have to hunt one of these up locally and take a look, just because it is so much bang for the buck. It reviews well http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzUb2_sWorE (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GzUb2_sWorE) and between the sights and the certificate, that is half of the cost right there.

I contacted the gun shop I purchased from and they were able to find the certificate. Should be able to pick it up this week.

Ladies and Gents,

Perhaps an obvious question, but are there any formal plans, or taskings, to get the Marlin LTR into the hands of the myriad "gun" magazines, e.g. Gun Tests, Backwoods Home, American Rifleman. etc.?  An article containing a favorable revue - indeed, just the article itself, would be a huge promotions victory, nationally.  Articles in MULTIPLE magazines...can you say cover story and picture...
are potentially a gold mine for filling the lines in 2014.
The aftermarker stores like Natchez, Midway, and CDNN should also be given a heads-up that they will soon experience an increase in orders for 795 magazines, as four ("prep 40...") requires the purchase of two more.

   Just saying...
Excelsior,

Hi Everybody,

I'm brand new to this forum.  A friend turned my on to Appleseed just a few weeks ago. :)

I had nothing even close to suitable to shoot, so when I saw the 795 LTR with all the necessities included, I thought I'd try to obtain one.  I succeeded and picked it up today.  Really neat rifle, but it did NOT come with the certificate.  :(  I was disappointed about that, and I'm hopeful we'll find out what happened.  I'll keep watching this thread.

Jim i SA,
Appleseed Gift Certificate - along with Davidson's "Warrantee Card," packed in clear bag in shipping carton for the rifles, NOT in the individual Marlin cartons - that indicates that they're being inserted @ Davidson's rather than @ Marlin factory, as rifle cartons are taped shut, presumably @ factory.

They're in there - just don't let your FFL throw away shipping cartons without retrieving the bag...

Excelsior and  see you and LTR on Appleseed line,

Gentlemen

Thank you for the quick responses.  I fired off an email to my ffl as soon as I read them.  They're closed because today is Sunday, but with a little luck, maybe the trash didn't get picked up on a Saturday.  Thanks again.

Haven't heard back from Davidson's (sent email). My FFL assures me that they checked both boxes - shipping and rifle - VERY carefully, and it was not in there. If it was in the same bag with the warranty card, that wasn't in there either! I got a manual, sling, 2 extra mags, and a trigger lock, but NO Appleseed gift certificate, and no warranty card.

The Marlin 795 LTR package is still a good deal, even without the gift certificate.  Certainly more convenient than accumulating and assembling all the parts.
I recall the Appleseed gift certificate was "for a limited time only" I guess that time expired.
This blog says the certificates were a promotion through 04 July 2013:  http://www.bob-owens.com/2013/02/marlinappleseed-ltr-announced/

No the offer has not expired. The location of where the certificates were being placed was not well thought out and is being addressed by Davidsons/Marlin so as to make it easier to locate them.

The certificates have no expiration date on them and every rifle shipped prior to Jan 1 2014 is to have a certificate with it. If you get a package that does not include the certificate contact Davidsons and they should be sending you a replacement. The Certificate is actually listed as a separate line item on the shipping document just as the rifle itself is listed as a separate line item to the FFL.

I called my dealer back regarding the missing Appleseed certificate; they found it and will mail it to me.

Did others receive only 1 one inch swivel (attached to the sling).  I received one only, will have to get another for for the hasty and hasty hasty.
