My wife and I recently attended a shoot. We had a wonderful time, exhausting, but wonderful. It was mentioned that we could get an M1 through Appleseed for roughly 1/2 of market price. We are trying to figure out where and how we can take advantage of this offer? Can anyone shed some light on this?
Not through Appleseed, but through the Civilian Marksmanship Program (CMP). Check out their web site: http://thecmp.org/
What attending an Appleseed does is help you fulfill at least one of the requirements to buy from the CMP, specifically the firearms related activity. If you join the Revolutionary War Veteran's Association (RWVA) that satisfies a second requirement. Appleseed is part of RWVA, so joining that continues to support Appleseed, although joining the Garand Collectors Association (GCA) would work as well.
For more information on all the requirements, see here: http://thecmp.org/Sales/eligibility.htm
