Another fantastic Appleseed at the prestigious National Rifle Association Whittington Center. 16 shooters showed up for a dose of North Bridge style heritage and marksmanship. A great job was done by instructors and shooters who never missed a beat.
On day two, we shot steel from 100 yards with rim fires to 300, 575 and 935 yards with center fires! Oh yeah. >:D
There were nearly 700 shooters from all over the world as this Appleseed was during the F-Class World Championships. Lots of 7th stepping was done to a world audience.
We had one Rifleman on Saturday and two more on Sunday.
Huzzah! More details and pics to follow! :~

(//) Hey!
I have to say this group was fantastic, a great and productive weekend.
Thank you all for helping me progress as an instructor in training. As you learn I learn.
Just one of the wonderful things about taking the orange hat!

Hey,
Do you recognize your headgear? We all adapt to the weather!
Hey
more pics
Everyone working hard !
Some improvised slings, some headgear, some positions according to abilities.
We overcame the call of the couch and attended the siren song of Appleseed !
Captwa, thanks for your help! :~
Your Sun DOM was heartfelt and tearful. That indirectly served to rinse that hot, dry NM dust from the eyes.
Dan,
I was an active Scout leader for a few years. One of the best trips we did was to Boston's Freedom trail on a long weekend. While we didn't get to Concord we did make stops along Battle Road ( with 35 kids !) ending at Lexington Green.
That house in Arlington ( Monotomy, Mahogany...whatever) is the spookiest place I've been to next to the hill of Pickets Charge. It's not a big space for what happened. Like you said the floorboards are still dark.
Our history is full of sacrifice and the stories we tell are of mortal agony on both sides. I'll get through the tellins as best I can. I've lost friends and family to that kind of work and we'll likely continue to pay the butchers bill. Freedom ain't cheap.
