This was the inaugural shoot for Rivanna Rifle and Pistol Club in Charlottesville, Virginia. It was a sauna! Typical Virginia Summer weather Temperatures in the 90s and high humidity, very still conditions and lots of sunshine. We had a great crew of instructors and a mostly fresh crop of Shooters. The club put us on their "Bull's eye" pistol range and it was an excellent match for Appleseed. Lots of spirited story and inspired marksmanship made it a great weekend. By the time we finished we had 3 new Riflemen and one became an Instructor In Training.
That sounds like an excellent weekend. I'm sorry to have missed it.
Great work and great results for such overwhelming heat! It was ugly up here too, and the heat definitely had an impact on turnout and results. BeSwift
Saunaseed indeed. All of us on the line Sunday were wondering if it had tipped 100 degrees. Well, while unpacking my gear from the line I found that my clipboard that was in the top of my box. The clipboard had a sling laying on top of it. That little bit of weight, along with the heat, warped the board. Attached are a couple pics. I'd say we were certainly bouncing around 100.
