A new bridge instead of a creek crossing, grass instead of mud, and sunshine instead of rain greeted the instructor crew and shooters when they arrived at Knob Creek Gun Range in West Point, KY on Saturday June 28, 2013.
Yes, the new bridge is in place and it looks like it would hold an M1 tank in addition to the heavy ammo trucks for the machine gun shoots! We also found that KCR is significantly expanding their retail store. The lower range is in excellent shape with mowed grass replacing the previous muddy field, and the covered firing line structure and roof have been replaced. The forecast rains held off except for one 30-second sprinkle during lunch and temps were very bearable. We were off to a great start.
11 Americans showed up Saturday morning to learn about their history and heritage, and to improve their rifle marksmanship, and 7 returned on Sunday June 30. We had no Riflemen, but the highlight of this Shoot Boss's weekend was when, during Sunday PM KD, 8 year old Wyatt rang steel at 100 yards with 5 out of 5 shots from a loaned AR and loaned Wolf steel case ammo. None of the other shooters came close to 5/5. HUZZAH! Thanks to John for sharing your rifle, and thanks to Brian for donating your Wolf ammo. Thanks also to Mike for sharing your Garand and ammo for KD.
Thank you Thirza and Tom for bringing your daughter Marian. Thank you Hunter for bringing your sons Wyatt and Preston. Thanks to Mike for bringing your son John. And thanks to Tony for coming with your sons and grandsons. And thanks to IIT The Infamous Jay for bringing almost half the line! HUZZAH!
Brian L: It was a pleasure meeting you, and I did see remarkable improvement once you relaxed and stopped over-thinking things and got in your Rifleman's Bubble. I hope we see you again soon.
Brian M: It was a pleasure meeting you as well. Thank you again for your service, and best wishes for your upcoming rifle qualification. I hope that what you learned this weekend will increase your score. Please keep us informed.
I hope you ALL turn out for another Project Appleseed clinic very soon. I failed to take any pictures :slap: so I am relying on others to post up.
An RWVA Instructor would be happy to come and speak to your club or group and present the Three Strikes. We call these non-shooting events Libertyseeds. I have been informed by people in the know in Frankfort that when the the capitol switchboard gets 1 telephone call for or against a certain issue, they multiply that by 14,000! That's about the same as the number of militia that turned out by April 20, 1775! And this is for the little ol' state of Kentucky. Imagine what multiplier they use when you call Washington, DC! You can be an army of one simply by voicing your concerns and opinions to your lawmakers!

Preston and Wyatt...
A great weekend with Outstanding instructors! Nicely orchestrated by Unbridled Liberty. The highlight was eight year old Wyatt hitting 5 of 5 on steel at 100 yards with a borrowed AR. :--- He obviously listened and learned.
All of us improved, hopefully next time for some rifleman patches. Several of us just need to learn to keep the NPOA going through 10 rounds. So close!!
Thanks again to all who made this happen!
We couldn't have hoped for better weather. Thank you to Jackie and Mike for putting me up. Keep on shooting!
