Post by: Rimshot on April 23, 2013, 01:39:07 AM
Good weekend.  Snow, mud, then more mud.  I have a few pics from my phone and I'll post Bryant's photos tomorrow.

Good morning Patriot's Day Weekend!

Saturday was quite chilly  and Sundy started off that way as well but with quite a bit more wind.  But by the time AQTs started on Sunday it warmed up enough to ditch the jackets and focus on fundamentals.  We had a nice variety of shooters on the line ranging from real young, maybe 4 shooters under 16, to some who could rival an expert sniper In my humble opinion.  We almost saw a perfect 250 score from from at least 1 maybe 2 shooters.  And the Ossian conservation folks sure know how to keep our bellies full and fingers and toes quite warm.  We enjoyed some Nelsons chicken on Saturday and some Home Made Chili and Hot dogs Sunday along with some mighty delicous Ho Ho Cake.  Anniversary weekend with the volley for all the soldiers was indeed special with even some veteran Appleseeders experiencing this special part of this weekend for the first time.

It was truly a great weekend. Rimshot and the instructors did a great job at teaching the fundamentals and safety, I think that everyone improved over the weekend. I just wanna say thank you to the instructors for taking there time to help instruct us, and also to the range for hosting the shoot.

What a great Appleseed.  It was a pleasure to be here Patriots Day weekend and experience the Memorial Volley.  Thanks to Rimshot for letting me borrow his rifle to shoot the volley for my 1st time.
The mud was great, it was splashed all over everything.  What a great group of shooters we had, the kids on the line were especially good to see and they stuck to it the whole time.  Wish I could've seen the progress they made on Sunday, but I was unable to be there because of my little boys pee wee football game.  Congratulations to David and his Father for requalifying & congratz to Don for requalifying and taking a Blue Hat.  Bout time we have a Blue Hat up north to help bail.  Huzzah!! O0
