Our second Appleseed of this year at Iroquois Rod & Gun Club (http://www.iroquoisrodandgun.org/) in Rotterdam proved to be a challenge for many students - not because of the marksmanship but because of the weather. The wind chill on both days produced near Winterseed conditions, something most of our attendees had not experienced for a very long time.
It was good to see some folks who attended the January Appleseed at Iroquois returning, and bringing friends and family along with them. And even better to see some folks I met at the Dunham's Bay Fish & Game Club (http://dunhamsbay.net/) Appleseed in November of 2011.
There was a very good mix of Patriots on the line (and in the stands) for this event, ranging from first time to experienced shooters; and from age 12 to, well, let's just say some of our students were in high school when man first set foot on the moon.
I'd like to extend a thanks to the host range for allowing us to use their facilities to spread the message of Appleseed; to the instructors who gave up their weekends to help do the same; and a special Thank You! to Krisker for volunteering as a RSO, photographer, and to demo steady hold factors for the entire weekend!
I hope to see you all again some time soon!

Great job all. O0
It seems most events in the NE were plagued with almost "Winterseed" weather. Then again the April Anniversary Shoots seem to attract challenging conditions.
Congrats on a good Shoot. ^:)^
Thanks Rich.
QuoteIt seems most events in the NE were plagued with almost "Winterseed" weather. Then again the April Anniversary Shoots seem to attract challenging conditions.
Maybe that's the idea - to get our attendees of the anniversary events to identify with the challenges faced by those who mustered and fought on 4/19/75.
A great weekend for all, and indeed reminicent of the conditions of April 18-19, 1775!! It was tough, but our stalwort band of patiriots persevered!!
First, many thanks for ADOM for his leadership. From the first Redcoat there were some equipment issues. Took a few equipment swap outs to get everything tweeked in. But Mark got everyone going and ran a great shoot.
It is always an honor to work with ADOM, LittleMo and Krister. It was wonderful to see Kris working the line. Thank you so much for stepin in and being the demo!!
Thank you Iriquois. You always are so supportive of AS when we come. Those hot dogs were truly gormet when you are cold and hungry!!
And especially, many thanks to our great band of shooters. You came through just as our forefathers did. It was great to see parents and grandparents supporting our next generation!! That was one proud grandma there!! :)
To new shooters and experienced alike, all listened to instruction with open minds and set about putting what they learned into practice. As always, there is much to be practiced outside of the AS, but you know what you need to do and I have no doubt will continue to put into practice that which you learned. Remember......SHIFT THOSE HIPS!!
I'll post a few more pictures in the near future.
Hope to see you all on the trail!! ;D
Sue (aka The Mrs.)
As promised!!
Sweet,
Nice work by all, are there fish in the new pond???
I didn't see any fish, but I did bring a Tip-Up on Sunday just in case.
..Yes that puddle is quite the pond and right in front of the target line, lots of wet feet if you did not bring your muck boots. Great job Mark, Gary and Sue..
..or..
..Appleseed is not a shooting club, we are a fishing club, we are fisher of men looking for a few good ones to help bail the USS America..
........S_______ & H____..................Josey Wales.............
The key words of this weekend are:
COLD MUD & HOT BRASS!!!!! Firing RFAQT's just to keep the line warm. The worse the weather the better the RIFLEMEN!!!!!
You all shared a Patriots Weekend with some fine people. A weekend to truely value.
GOOD JOB!!!!
More photos from Krisker (in no particular order)...
