If the old saying about March weather holds true, "in like a lion, out like a lamb," we should have an early spring here in North Georgia. We had our first Appleseed of the year here in Rising Fawn and the temperature Saturday never got above 35 with snow showers all day. On the bright side, it could have been worse; it could have been raining instead. Despite the weather, we had an absolutely fabulous event!

We had a solid turnout with nearly one-third of the shooters returning from previous Appleseed events. With that much prior experience on the line, I had a feeling we'd have a few Rifleman scores but the surprise was that the two Riflemen on Saturday qualified on their first AQT on the first day of the first event they'd ever attended. Shane and Sam shot scores of 224 and 233 respectively, and I have a feeling we'll see them back in the future in a different color hat. Clearly, these shooters know what they're about.

On Sunday, a veteran of two previous Appleseed weekends shot a Rifleman score of 233 and earned his patch. Way to go Doug; a rifleman persists.

We had many shooters who got very close and stuck it out to the end. Everett W was the last shooter on the line and got close with a 201. I think we'll see Everett again as well. We need another Dangerous Old Man in Appleseed.

Thanks to all the patriots, especially the young ones, who gave up their time to come out and strike a blow for Liberty.

I also want to welcome 3 new Orange Hats to the instructor ranks, SureShotPatriot, Regulator and Overmountain Man all passed the PC0 and accepted the challenge to awaken sleeping Americans and teach the marksmanship skills they possess to others. Welcome to the family y'all!
I hope to see all of you again soon on the Appleseed trail. Don't forget the Appleseed Patriot's Day events nationwide the weekend of April 20-21. What better way to help celebrate the "Most Important Day in American History" than by developing the marksmanship skills that helped our ancestors win the freedom we still enjoy today.

Thank you to all that attended! It's amazing how quickly I've grown to appreciate each of you. I'm super excited about this year as we continue to grow the "family".
Wow, what a cold weekend in the mountains. Nothin like shooting in the wind and snow. Had a great weekend. It was a pleasure to meet all the instructors, and shooters. It was good to see a bunch of young patriots who want to learn marksmenship. You guys keep it up. Jonathan especially your knocking at the door so don't give up, keep practising, remember a rifleman will persist and won't give up. Thankyou ramblinwreck for hosting this shoot and i hope to work under you again in the future. Congrats to the new riflemen and also to the new orange hats. Ben
