Learn to cross you rounds in the enbloc old school style , works great with a little practice. Make sure the bottom of the round is toutching the bottom of the enbloc then you don't have to keep up with the odd enblocs. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vnwqGvwUYNk
Amazon.
5 round

2 round
errrr......
They had 'em I swear....
You guys would do well to take Hawkeye's advice. He builds M1's and shoots them exceptionally well. He also teaches the M1 clinics at Ramseur RBC's and Appleseeds and has since 2008.
Thank you,
I'll watch the video and practice.
Hey the criss cross 2 rounds in the E clip works pretty good once you get the hang of it I used it at Atterbury last weekend but I would like to know how to prep 5 into it. Better yet 3 cause we were shootin alot of 3 round sighters then clearing the line

Since sighter squares aren't timed... insert an empty clip (don't push it all the way down), then feed the number of rounds that you want (3 or 5) on top of the follower. Hold the slide back with the edge of your hand, seat the clip all the way down, and release the slide chambering the first round. Thanks, Earl, for showing me that trick.

Yes a Garand can be topped off. The above method works well. Or for three rounds you can single feed ,just ease the bolt forward part way before letting it slam into battery. Practice.
Cool! I'll practice the 3-round / topping off method and single feeds. (With dummy rounds)
I've been doing pretty well with the crossed 2-rounds (thanks, Shadowman).
I've heard you don't want to chamber a single-fed cartridge, you want the bolt to have to push it in as it goes into battery. Otherwise you are more likely to get a slam fire. Does that make sense? The explanation was that the bolt sliding free could have enough momentum that the firing pin strikes hard enough to fire. The bolt won't go as fast if it has to haul a cartridge into the chamber, but is the cartridge heavy enough to make a difference?
Apologies for butchering any terms.
Gun Parts Corp, aka Numrich Arms of West Hurley, NY, lists the 2 round clips (#766040) as in stock @ $6.70; the 5 rd clips (#546280)
@ $5.60 as Sold out.
You snooze...
'Course, for us living in NYSAFEland, the question is, if the Garand chambers a round upon insertion of the enbloc clip (and is same even considered a magazine...) does that mean we have achieved the Holy Grail of safety...the seven round magazine?
Or not.

You can modify Garand clips yourself. Here is how: http://www.fulton-armory.com/%5Cfaqs%5CM1G-FAQs%5C2clip.htm (http://www.fulton-armory.com/%5Cfaqs%5CM1G-FAQs%5C2clip.htm)
Disclaimer: I've never done it before.
