My tradition is to shoot on new years day. And since becoming involved with Appleseed, always invite local appleseeders to come shoot.
Several phone calls and text messages netted a few promises, and two, who showed up. One a young relitive came with his brand new, unfired 6.8 spc, by Rock River, got him sighted in and a redcoat, the other shooter was none other than the infamous MTProgrammer.
His road time brought him to the range just before 11 AM.
We had the fire pit going, a big can of beans warming up, some cheddar dawgs, and smoked polish sausage, lay's dill pickle chips rounded out the menu.
The guy with the 6.8 left right after lunch citing, a week of fighting a cold and low ammo supply.
MTProgrammer and I, broke out the AQTs.
We shot the first one right handed.
The second and third AQTs were fired left handed.
Sure was hard to get up for the transition seated, slung up backwards.
New personal high score for me today, 245 lefty.
We invited the shooters from the next shooting bay over for smores, chatted with them, and gave them an AQT, along with a plug for appleseed.
Then headed out around 3:00 with the sun going low, and the wind coming up.
